My Trick to Super Defined Single Plait Double Braidout on My Natural Hair

It’s a struggle sometimes to find nice hairstyles to wear my natural hair in. So, I tried an experiment that actually looked wearable. As a matter of fact, I’m getting more than one benefit from my single plait double braid out. This is an excellent protective style that can promote natural hair growth. This is my unique way of doing my braid out hairstyle on my natural hair, and this is the result.

There are times when I don’t like to wear my natural hair loose. I just want to fix it in a style and leave it without having to mess around with it. Also, I was thinking of a way to help my hair grow faster and at the same time, make it look nice enough to wear outside the house.

I planned on thoroughly cleansing buildup from my hair with apple cider vinegar. I did an apple cider rinse before doing my single plait double-braidout. I could instantly see and feel the difference in the texture and appearance of my hair. You should see the color of the water, too. It was cloudy from all the buildup that was in my hair since the last apple cider rinse I did.

My next natural hair remedy to build moisture and soften my dry hair, is the famous Organic Aloe Vera. This is my trick to helping me part my hair for the single braids that I was about to do on my hair. Anyone who has thick natural hair know what I’m talking about when it’s time to part your hair for braiding.

Fortunately for me, Aloe seems to love my hair and I love Aloe Vera, too. No matter how tangled my hair is, using Aloe Vera instantly detangles it. I don’t even need to wet my hair. You can use Aloe on dry hair and it detangles it just the same.

How I Do My Single Plait Double Braidout

I part my hair in sections, starting with the first section from the back. I applied some Aloe Vera on each section, then I plait (braid) it almost all the way to the end, but leave a little loose hair at the ends.

Next, I put some Aloe Vera juice on the ends and twirl it around on my fingers, leaving a coil. The Aloe Vera at the ends keeps my hair ends moisturized and silky. I continued to part small sections, while still using my homemade aloe vera gel on each section, then braided each single plaits continuously until I completely did all of my head.

The difference with my unique braid out is that I don’t unbraid the single plaits/braid. This is how I did them to achieve my final braidout look.

After I finished single braiding my hair, I partition the braids in two sections. I then braid those already braided single plaits into another braid, applying more Aloe Vera. I leave them in until the next day, then I pull out only the last two braids I did. So, this hairstyle is still in a stylish protective style, but still gives you that defined soft curls.

The picture below is how my hair looked after I pull out the two braids that I did overnight. The curls just softly fell on my shoulders and stayed for days. All I did was just rubbed some herbal oil in it to make it look and smell fresh.

To keep your braid outs longer and looking good for days, cover your hair with a statin sleep cap when you go to bed at nights.
