Locs Health: New Year’s Resolution, Thoughts and Goals

We are so blessed to see a new year. Now it’s time to look back and reflect on what we did wrong the previous year when it comes to our locs health. Were you pleased with the way you treated your dreadsĀ  last year? What plans do you have in place to keep your hair looking healthy and strong? What is your New Year’s resolution for maintaining a healthy head of locs?

The Real Truth About Having Locs

Having dreads may seem like it’s an easy way to avoid taking care of your hair or having to get up every day and figure out how to style your hair. However, this is not the case, contrary to what some people think. Keeping your locs looking healthy and beautiful takes a lot of work, especially at the beginning stages of your locs journey.

Appreciation for Nature During Locs Journey

Some people decide to get locs because of spiritual reasons, while others just do it for fashion purposes. Whatever your choice is, if this is something that you really want, you should go for it. Sometimes during your transitioning period, you may notice that you’ll start to look at life differently.

Things such as nature may be more appreciated. Basically, it’s like the blinds have been lifted from your eyes. It’s a great feeling for some people. Only time will tell how your locs journey will affect your lifestyle.

Fulfilling Your Locs Dreams This New Year

This new year, if you decide to finally start your locs journey, you have your work cut out for you, but it can be done. Things may not go smoothly along the way, but that’s just how it is when it comes to your hair transforming into mature locs.

Do as much research as you can to decide if this is something you want to do. The journey may seem slow at first, but eventually things will pick up. In the starter locs stages, you won’t be able to wash your hair so often or vigorously as when it’s matured.
