Pain-Free De-Matting: How I Detangle My Matted Natural Hair

Matted natural hairI swear my hair is bipolar. It can change from one texture to another depending on what it feels like doing. I had to come up with a plan to tame this crazy head of hair. I finally found a way to detangle my matted hair painlessly. Stick around to find out how I did this.

Matted hair is something that many people who have natural hair has to deal with. It can be really painful to get through all the knots and tangles if you don’t have a special technique.

This is how I detangle my hair when it decides to go crazy. If you read any of my previous blog posts, you will see how much I love using Aloe Vera. This is my favorite go-to haircare solution for detangling my hair. Since I have Aloe Vera abundantly, I just use the fresh natural plant.

I’ve used many things in my hair to detangle it, but nothing works best like the gel from the Aloe Vera. My hair can be full of knots and tangles and as soon as I rub some organic Aloe Vera in my hair, it magically gets soft and manageable.

I like the fact that I can easily start from the ends and work my way up to the roots with my fingers as I apply the aloe, and remove the tangled hair without causing any damage.

I also tip some Jamaican Black Castor oil in the Aloe Vera juice to help add extra moisture and sheen to  my hair. You can add some water to thin the aloe a little or just pour it in your hand from a applicator bottle like the one I use, then rub it in your hair.

This pointed mouth applicator bottle helps prevent the slippery aloe gel from running out of your hand.

I start by sectioning parts of my thick matted hair, then apply some of the Aloe Vera gel to that section. After applying the aloe to my hair, I use my fingers and start raking it from my hair ends. I could feel my hair instantly started to soften.

After detangling with your fingers, I use a detangling brush or a big teeth comb and smoothly come through my hair. This is a great natural detangler remedy for thick curly hair. The Aloe Vera mixed with castor oil (Not too much) helps to moisturize and add sheen to my hair.

When I finish combing through each section, I do a two-strand twist protective style, which also helps to stretch my hair. When I pull out my hair, it retains the length. It’s like day and night when you look at the difference.

So you see, you don’t need a lot of products in your hair to get rid of knots and tangled hair. Simple is the best way to go. Although it may not work for some people, it may work wonders for others.

Natural Hair Journey: How I Got Thicker, Longer, Fuller Hair

how to get your natural hair longer and thicker
My Thick, Fuller Natural Hair

I’m here again with my natural hair journey update. I know I haven’t been posting that often these days, but life has gotten so hectic. However, I couldn’t leave you guys hanging, so I had to drop by to let you know how my hair has been doing since I combed out my dreads.

Natural Loose Hair Versus Dreadlocks Drying

Since I combed out my dreadlocks, I must be honest, my hair is not so high-maintenance. One main difference with my hair now compared to then, is that I can wash it and it dries in minutes, whereas when I had locs, it took hours to dry. This is something that I look forward to doing especially since the drying time has decreased.

Comparing Hair Growth on My Natural Hair to Locs

Another thing I noticed with my loose natural hair is that even though it’s growing, it doesn’t stretch out and look as long as when I had dreadlocks. The only time I see the length of my hair, is when I twist it and leave them for a few days, then pull them out. This protective style helps to stretch your hair.

Growing Thicker Natural Hair with Aloe Vera

I do notice my natural hair is growing thicker and look so much fuller than before. Even the color is more darker and shiner. This may be because I use Organic Aloe Vera a lot as a part of  my daily hair care regimen.

In addition to Aloe Vera, I also love to use the Jamaican Black Castor Oil mixed with extra virgin coconut oil. A few days ago, I mixed some castor oil and coconut oil and added some tea tree oil, mixed them up and apply it to my scalp and hair. I then placed a steam cap on and went about my daily household chores. It’s as simple as that.

Take Care of What’s Under the Wig

You can squeeze some time out of your daily routine to take care of your real natural hair, just as how you care for your wigs. At the end of the day, what’s under the wig is just as or even more important than the wig itself.

Wigs are beautiful and convenient, whether they are human hair wigs or synthetic. It’s your choice if you want to enhance your beauty by wearing stylish wigs. Just remember not to neglect your hair that you were born with.

Tip of the day: Although you want your natural hair to grow faster, it is recommended that you trim away split or damaged hair ends. This will prevent the damage from travelling past the ends and further up the strands.

Whether you have loose natural hair or dreadlocks, you can use Aloe Vera home remedy to soften your hair. If you notice that your dreads are becoming stiff and dry, Aloe Vera is a great solution to soften them up and add some luster and life to your hair.

When you use Aloe Vera gel in your hair, it’s not only providing beauty to the outer appearance of your hair, but also supplying your scalp and hair with the necessary nutrients to help your natural hair grow faster and stay healthy.

You may be wondering if you can use your own Aloe plant if you don’t have the resources to purchase a bottle of Aloe Vera gel. If so, the answer is yes, you can make your own Aloe Vera gel and use it as a remedy for stiff dreads or coarse natural hair. As a matter of fact, you can also use the aloe as a daily conditioner in your hair, as long as you’re not allergic to it.

I love the way my hair look and feels anytime I use the Aloe Vera in my hair. It instantly moisturize my hair and add this nice sheen to it.

I’ve proven it more than once. There are times when I literally can’t untangle my hair, and as soon as I put some Aloe Vera in it, it instantly becomes so soft and manageable.

Another great testimony I have from using Aloe Vera is that it helps to combat shrinkage. I notice how my hair stretches and show the true length, compared to before I apply the aloe. There’s usually a big difference.

Also, my hair stay stretched without shrinking again until when it’s washed. If you use Aloe Vera gel as a anti-shrinkage on a regular basis, it will do wonders for your hair. The benefits of using Aloe Vera gel is so enormous that it’s almost like magic. That’s why I can’t do without my Aloe. It is now my everyday solution to any hair, scalp and skin issues I have.
