Approaching My Three-Year Locs Anniversary

It seems like just yesterday when I made the big decision to grow dreadlocks. When I just started I didn’t know it was so much hard work, but I enjoyed the challenges that came my way. Well, not all of them, I must be honest, but I must say that I’ve learned a lot along the way.

Comparing Locs Progression

Now when I look back on the pictures that I took in those early days when I had my starter locs, I can see so much improvement in the overall health of my dreads. If you look at everyone who grow dreads, you will quickly notice that each person has their own unique look. It all boils down to how well you take care of your hair, and your diet also plays a role too.

If you are thinking of getting starter locs for this upcoming year, you should really do your research before you start the journey. This will help make the transition much more easier.

Taking care of dreadlocks involves more detailed care than regular hair. First of all, you don’t wash your locs the same way you would wash regular hair. There’s a certain technique that is involved. If you are new to my website, take a few minutes to get some quick tips for healthier locs.

Reaping the Rewards

As your locs get more matured, the journey gets so much easier. Sometimes after washing your hair, you won’t even have to re-twist it all the time, because it’s already locked nicely without much loose hair. Just do your regular locs maintenance such as oiling your scalp with natural oils. See more information on the types of oils that are best for dreadlocks.

Block Out Negative Energy

Those of you who are about to start your journey of growing your dreads, get ready for criticism and weird looks or questions from some people. You’re going to have to be strong and not care what other people say or believe. It’s your life and only you can live it. Keep that in mind and learn how to block out negative energy, if it does come your way.
